It is not that I am fed up with my current college in any way. My stay
at Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) will remain the most memorable moments
in my life. With its active student life, it has been an opportunity to meet
new people and make some difference in my life and those of others. I have had
to make important decisions on which courses to take, seek the counsel of
others in matters not clear to me as well as proper time management. I must
admit that coming to BHCC has given me a new sense of myself. Much as I would
have loved to stay on, moving on will be another step towards accomplishing my
dream of learning more about computers.
My preoccupation with computers dates back to when I was still very
young. Friends would chide me for being overly
curious about computers. It, therefore, not surprising when I settled for
Computer Science as my major. The decision came from the conviction that I was
getting into something that I truly enjoyed doing. Fellow students at BHCC have
also turned out to be relatively bright and interactive going by spontaneous
discussions that we constantly engage in. Professors have also been very
helpful, often encouraging student participation. It is only unfortunate that I
have to pursue my dreams in a four year college.
This need to eventually get an acceptance into a four year college has
seen me work very hard throughout the time I have been at BHCC. I realized from
the outset that only an exceptional GPA would secure me a reputable four year
college to further my dreams. It is for that reason that I have been working to
get a GPA of at least 4.0. It is no doubt a tall order but I get the
consolation from the fact that I have been able to accomplish most of the
things I set my eyes on in the past. But my life at BHCC has been more than
just academics. The college boasts of several avenues to develop the non
academic aspects of a student. I am lucky that I participated in quite a number
of those activities.
Even more adventurous was an internship I had the past summer. Prior to this, I had to contend to learning about computers mainly from the school. This college learning had a bias
